Surajkund Mela 2010 – Vice President of India H.E. Mohammad Hamid Ansari today inaugurated Surajkundmela in Haryana, the internationally acclaimed annual Surajkund Crafts Mela or Fair at Surajkund. Also see 24th Surajkund Crafts Mela 2010 Cultural Programms Calendar. SurajkundMela2010 will be from 01 Feb 2010 – 15 Feb 2010. The Mela begins from 9.30 a.m. and closes at 5.30 p.m. each evening from 1st to 15th February every year.
This year, Tajikistan is the partner country and Rajasthan is theme state for the fair.Several craftsmen from Thailand, Egypt, and SAARC countries, including India are participating in the Mela.
How to reach or Visit Surajkund Mela
It is 8 kilometres by road from South Delhi and 20 kilometres from New Delhi city. The nearest airport is the Indira Gandhi International Airport, 25 km away. The nearest railway stations are the New Delhi Railway Station and the Nizamuddin Railway Station, 22 kilometres and 21 kilometres respectively by road. It is also approached by road and rail from Faridabad (headquarters of the district) and Gurgaon cities. It is 11.5 kilometres from the Qutub Minar and 3 kilometres Tughlaqabad, two historical places in Delhi.
