Pratapgarh Kripalu Maharaj ashram witness 64 people dead. 15 others injured in a stampede. (Stampede meaning – a headlong rush of people on a common impulse; “when he shouted `fire’ there was a stampede to the exits”) The incident was happened during a lunch, organized by Saint Kripalu Maharaj or kripaluji Maharaj in Pratapgar in UP in ashram where nearly 10,000 people had converged for a ritual. The stampede took place after the gate of the Ram Janki temple located in Kripalu Maharaj’s ashram, 60 kms from Allahabad, collapsed during distribution of food on the occasion “Shradh” (Shradh is performed every year on the anniversary of the death of the person as per the Hindu Calendar (Panchang).) of his wife.
