Visa-free between Israel and Ukraine - Cabinet approves the removal of visa restriuctions and expects rise in tourism. The cabinet on Sunday approved a proposal by the foreign and tourism ministers to cancel the mutual tourist visa requirement between Israel and Ukraine. The visa cancellation will go into effect after an agreement is signed by both countries’ foreign ministers subsequent cabinet ratification. Now, Ukrainians will visit Israel without visas.
The plan is expected to raise the numbers of tourists from the Ukraine. Ukraine attracts more than 20 million foreign citizens every year (23.1 million in 2007). Visitors primarily come from Eastern Europe, but also from Western Europe (6.3 million) and USA and also Canada. The country is the 8th most popular tourism destination in the world.
