Double Decker Train in India, Indian Railways first double-decker AC train. According to the latest news and updated reports Indian Railways gets first double-decker first air-conditioned (AC) double-decker train train in Kapurthala district of Jalandhar on Saturday, Oct 16.
Rail Coach Factory (RCF) has made this new train of eight coaches and will run between Howrah and Dhanbad. The train is made up of stainless steel and can run up to the speed of 180 kilometer per hour. Double Decker Train’seach coach can accommodate 128 passengers, while Shatabdi carrys only 78 passengers in every coach. Power cars attached at both sides of the train will supply power to the train, it is designed with all kinds of safety features. Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala, General Manager Pradeep Kumar revealed that new double-decker train will have a speed of 160 kilometer per hour.
